Zoho Forms Attribution Tracking
Know exactly which marketing channels drive your Zoho Forms submissions. AttributionHub captures UTM parameters, referrers, and landing pages — supporting both iframe embeds and native HTML form elements.
Why Your Zoho Forms Need Marketing Attribution
Zoho Forms is a solid form builder that integrates naturally with the Zoho ecosystem — CRM, Campaigns, Analytics, and more. You're probably using it to capture leads, registrations, or survey responses across your website.
But when those submissions arrive in Zoho, you see the form answers without the marketing context. You know what people told you, but not what brought them to your site in the first place.
Was it a Google search? A LinkedIn ad? A blog post on a partner's site? Without this data, you're making marketing budget decisions on gut feeling instead of actual conversion data.
AttributionHub captures visitor-level attribution and passes it into Zoho Forms hidden fields. Whether your form is embedded as an iframe or uses the HTML source code embed, every submission carries its marketing context.
What Data Gets Captured
UTM Parameters
Source, medium, campaign, term, and content — captured from URLs and stored in Zoho Forms hidden fields.
Landing Page & Referrer
The entry page and referring site for each visitor, showing the full path from click to form submission.
Channel Classification
Each submission is automatically categorized: Paid Search, Organic, Social, Direct, Email, or Referral.
First Touch & Last Touch
Both the original discovery source and the converting touchpoint are tracked across multiple sessions.
How It Works
Zoho Forms offers two embed modes: iframe-based embeds and native HTML form elements (source code embed). AttributionHub handles both, but uses different methods for each.
Step 1: Create Hidden Fields in Zoho Forms
In the Zoho Forms builder, add single-line text fields for each attribution data point. Set each field to Hidden in the Advanced properties. Set the Field Unique Name to match AttributionHub's field names.
Step 2: Enable URL Parameter Pre-Fill
In Zoho Forms settings, go to General Settings and enable Pre-fill fields from URL parameters. Map each URL parameter to the corresponding hidden field in your form.
Step 3: Add the AttributionHub Script
Place the tracking snippet on your website:
<script src="https://cdn.attributionhub.com/attribution.js?id=YOUR_ID" async defer></script>
For iframe embeds, add the data-attrhub-iframe attribute to the iframe
element so AttributionHub detects it. For HTML source code embeds, the
form is detected automatically.
| Hidden Field | Field Unique Name | Example Value |
|---|---|---|
| Channel | ah_channel | Paid Search |
| Source | utm_source | |
| Medium | utm_medium | cpc |
| Campaign | utm_campaign | lead-gen-campaign |
| Keyword | utm_term | zoho crm alternative |
| Landing Page | ah_landing_page | /comparison |
| Referrer | ah_referrer | google.com |
Step 4: Test the Integration
Visit your page with UTM parameters and submit the form:
https://yoursite.com/contact?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=lead-gen-campaign
Check the submission in Zoho Forms — the hidden fields should contain the correct attribution values.

Use Cases
Zoho CRM Users — Map Zoho Forms fields to Zoho CRM custom fields and have attribution data flow directly into your CRM. See marketing source data on every Lead, Contact, or Deal record.
Multi-Product Businesses — If you use the Zoho suite (CRM, Campaigns, Analytics), attribution data from forms connects the dots across your entire marketing and sales stack.
B2B Lead Generation — Track which campaigns generate the best leads. Attribution on form submissions lets you calculate true cost per qualified lead by channel.
Event Registration — For webinar and event registration forms, know which promotional channels drive the most signups.
What Makes AttributionHub Different
Iframe & HTML Support
Handles both Zoho Forms embed modes — iframe embeds (via URL parameters) and HTML source code embeds (via direct field population).
Zoho Ecosystem Ready
Attribution data flows from Zoho Forms to Zoho CRM, Zoho Analytics, and other Zoho products through native integrations.
First-Party Data Only
No third-party cookies needed. Attribution is captured using first-party storage that works with all modern browsers.
Conditional Logic Support
Hidden attribution fields work alongside Zoho Forms conditional logic. You can even create rules based on attribution values.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work with Zoho Forms' native integrations?
Yes. Hidden field data is included when Zoho Forms sends data to Zoho CRM, Zoho Campaigns, Zoho Analytics, or any other connected Zoho product.
Can I create Zoho Analytics reports using attribution data?
Yes. When attribution fields are mapped to Zoho CRM and synced to Zoho Analytics, you can build reports and dashboards that show lead source distribution, conversion rates by channel, and more.
Will this work with Zoho Forms' approval workflows?
Yes. Attribution data is stored as standard form field data and is available throughout the form's lifecycle, including approval workflows.
Does it affect form loading speed?
No. The script is lightweight (under 10 KB) and loads asynchronously. No impact on form rendering or page performance.
